Sales Area Manager Benelux Germany Vegetables
Some direct customer relationships
Main Purpose of Role
• The Area Sales Manager is responsible for building and leading the sales force in a geographic area to ensure strong and sustainable growth of the Vegetable business.
• Develop and manage the Sales Representatives and Key Account Team in order to optimize net income through maximizing sales and controling SG&A; develop and manage area sales plans, assign sales target to sales representatives according to the overall budget assigned to the Countries and monitor the YTD achievements of the targets and implement proper recovery actions in case it is needed.
• Support the Sales Representatives and Key Accounts through developing, negotiating and managing customer agreements and pricing while focusing on retaining and improving customer relationships; also analyzing performance in the different areas of sales.
• Support Company policy of financial tracking revenue recognition to maintain a proper inventory level to meet both customers and Company needs (Forecast accuracy).
• Build and maintain partnerships with key accounts utilizing Bayer's internal expertise and strengths across all divisions and functions promoting initiatives to improve company overall customer care and customer satisfaction; participate in community and industry-related events to further develop new business opportunities.
• Demonstrate strong leadership by influencing and winning support within the commercial teams (sales, marketing, MD, finance, customer care); ensure that functional and organizational objectives are met by creating a synergistic culture, transferring Company strategy into meaningful team objectives and actively seeking effectiveness in order to improve performance through effective communication, coaching, motivation, training, development and rewards.
• Build and manage the Sales teams by:
- attracting/motivating and developing people,
- managing the team by setting direction and leading by example
- creating an open and diverse working environment,
- developing team effectiveness
- providing weekly reports to Commercial Lead and circulating to the team to encourage depth of understanding of markets indicators, financial indicators and performance vs company expectations.
- Address and seize opportunities to grow our Vegetable business in the area by;
- analyzing the situation and define plan,
- seeking the buy-in from the organization
- setting example in the implementation.
Who you are
Educational Requirements
Higher degree in Agronomics/Horticulture or equivalent
Postgraduate Marketing/Sales/Management preferred
Special skills
German, English, Dutch
Strong leadership, with interpersonal and communication skills
Listening skills, seeking feedback and coaching

Managing multiple teams or regions for results

Ability to assess, understand and meet customer needs (internal, external including farmers, channel and stakeholders)
Previous Work experience
Previous experience in technical/marketing/management roles
Broad direct and staff sales experience
Negotiating with large accounts or key partners
Operating in a high-pressure environment
Deliver on multiple complex plans/environment
