Job Description

As a Junior QA Engineer, you will take a part in supporting the planning of test activity and managing

the subsequent execution and reporting for an assigned area of functionality. Working closely with the team a QA Manager will provide input regarding the methods and approaches which should be used in testing activities, and ensure that the necessary rigour is applied in all aspects of testing. This role will include taking part in analysing the system, identifying test requirements, executing tests,

recording results and capturing defects. Working as part of a team, you will aid team members as required. With a flexible approach, you will be comfortable managing challenging timescales and frequent changes in day-by-day work plans. Key responsibilities

• Assisting in preparation of test cases from requirements specifications and acceptance criteria

• Collating and summarising test results

• Logging, tracking and proactive management of defects

• Providing feedback to developers to support continuous improvement

• Working very closely with other QA Engineers, Developers, Product Owners and other personnel and provide accurate reports

• Working with our business analysts to plan testing for current and future projects

• Participation in sprint planning and daily stand-ups

• Regular progress reporting to line manager

• Following and executing QA processes to ensure comprehensive project issue tracking and resolution

• Collaborating with developers and business stakeholders in support of production releases

• Developing and maintaining documentation of business processes, applications, and QA practices

• Ensuring product functionality adheres to business requirements and standards

• Running tests, analysing problems, logging defects and reporting results across the testing lifecycle

• Computer Science Degree

• As the majority of our work is data-centric, the ability to work with spreadsheets, large data sets, relational databases and the ability to generate SQL queries is an advantage
