Michael Kors is looking for an Assistant Buyer to assist the Lifestyle buying team to cover a Maternity leave. Expectations will be to partner with Management, Stores, Field support, Ecom and Global partners to identify opportunities, develop and execute strategies to build strong assortments that will achieve/surpass financial objectives of the division.
Strong analytical and planning skills, creative problem solving skills and ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial environment are a must.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Weekly
- Generate weekly selling reports and business analysis to track selling, identify key trends, maximize opportunities and minimize liabilities to achieve continued growth and profitability of the business
- Assist in producing weekly trade product performance recap
- Delivery management; oversee BAA and work in partnership with the planning, allocations and warehouse teams to track timely shipment of FGPO into DC in time for new product launches and basics replen.
- Stock management; working in partnership with the allocations team to ensure new product deliveries are sent to the right store ranging in the right quantity
- Prepare for and attend store visits and make recommendations to drive business
- Responsible for ensuring Buy critical path is up to date and key dates communicated to team
- Train, develop and support BAA
Monthly
- Communicate and partner with planning, allocations, retail team, VM and ops to ensure right execution of all merchandising strategies
- Product knowledge; select styles on a monthly basis and communicate to Ops team
- In partnership with planning team drive monthly communication with wholesale to discuss stock needs; stock swaps, re-orders, transfers
- Assist Buyer in monthly OTB meeting trade notes, best/worst sellers report.
- Partner with Planning to identify stock to be removed from the floor prior to each newness delivery, drop to Outlet or RTV.
- Partner with Ecom team to ensure Site Merchandising reflects Buying strategies. And key investments are focused in emails.
Seasonal
- Carry out competitor analysis, product a quarterly SWOT report
- Partner with team to run analysis and prepare hindsight’s and strategies pre-market, in order to identify key trends and opportunities in the assortment. Create boards where relevant. Attend and actively participate in market appointments
- Work with BAA to ensure bulk orders are inputted, checked and reconciled
- Recommend timely markdowns on goods and re orders on bestsellers. Share insight based on reviewing analysis in order to grow and impact business
- Be the point-person for communicating buy/pricing information to Marketing/PR teams
REQUIREMENTS
- Previous relevant experience
- Minimum Bachelor’s Degree
- Computer Literate – Advanced Excel Skills
