GENERAL SUMMARY:

The Technical Sales Consultant’s primary goal is to accomplish sales and profit objective for the respective territory through daily phone calls and follow through.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Achieve and in many cases surpass the sales/gross profit goals for your defined territory.

• Maintain and improve the profitability of the territory, and therefore Phenomenex.

• Provide telephone-based technical assistance and support to customers in the areas of HPLC, SPE and GC.

• Sell using information provided during technical sales training as well as their own amassed knowledge.

• Deliver technical seminars and/or presentations to customers

• Implementation of account action plans, reviewing performance and improving current account sales & support programs for your territory.

• Development of marketing plans in accordance with your sales manager to accomplish sales objectives for HPLC, SPE, GC and related accessories.

• Daily contact with your inside team and sales manager to insure on-going customer follow-up and satisfaction.

• Provide daily, weekly and monthly progress reports to your sales manager with regards to the performance of your territory.

• Update continually and accurately all computer/paper records of customers including but not restricted to:

- Database

- Quotes

- Return Authorizations

- Company files

• Visit customers at their location as and when required

• Follow-up territory marketing plans in order to accomplish sales, customer support & technical assistance objectives for HPLC, SPE, GC and related accessories.

• Perform other job-related duties as requested

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

• BSc, MSc or PhD in Chemistry or any Life Science required

• Requires analytical thinking and the ability to present ideas

• Strong IT skills

• Able to perform basic mathematical equations and formulas

• Strong organizational skills
