Job Overview:
Provide technical input and support to teams to achieve project objectives and to work towards Chartered Engineer status
Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
- Demonstrate experience as a section or deputy lead with up to 3 staff over a number of weeks.
- Be interacting on a daily or weekly basis with their departmental team & other departments
- Input to documentation of Project Design Basis documentation, project execution plans & schedule updates.
- Have worked on one or more process technologies (e.g. oil & gas production, gas treating, NGL recovery, LNG, refining or petrochemicals units).
- Have designed systems using more than one unit operations (fluid flow, separation, heat transfer, mass transfer, etc.)
- Work on process deliverables: PFDs, philosophies, P&IDs, data sheets, sections of simulations for process technologies, developing from first principles in most instances and be based on previous examples in all others.
- Have provided process input to more than one phase of a project (commissioning, detailed engineering, basic engineering, studies).
- Report to supervisors and lead engineers on progress of work activities against plan
- Take on team roles as required, gaining the support of others.
- Define the scope of their tasks for review by others.
- Be commercially and risk aware seeking out inputs to cost and revenue data and for risk assessment in HSE, HAZOP, technical and commercial risk.
- Prepare sections of reports with agreed format and content for checking by others; make informal Process Technical Presentations internally to the company.
- Support new business and project scope changes through work on estimates and plans as requested.
- Use and input to corporate guidelines, departmental systems and procedures.
- Perform their allocated tasks to an agreed schedule, seek new opportunities and request assistance where necessary.
- Be adaptable, being capable of meeting change in technology and working practices.
- Be actively developing multiple skills, be reacting positively to challenges, and understand the pressure of work
Basic Qualifications:
- A Graduate Engineer who has taken a role with a contractor or company engineering department on an EPC project.
- Must have skills in persuasion and assertion, defending their position and actions to their departmental team.
