We have an opportunity for a BIM Coordinator to join our 'Special Projects' division

Special Projects:

  • We are leaders in BIM level 2 for heritage projects and can provide holistic expertise. This encompasses design, pre-construction, the management of temporary and the management of conservation works, fine bespoke finishing and sustainability solutions. It also supports the handover and aftercare of the buildings.

The BIM Coordinator role:

  • The role of a BIM Coordinator at Sir Robert McAlpine is to manage the delivery of BIM solutions on construction projects from bid stage through to project completion, handover and soft landings.
  • In addition to having the required technical knowledge and software expertise, they must be experienced in handling a wide range of BIM-related activities, these include presenting, training and problem solving in order to motivate and encourage our staff and consultants to use the benefits of BIM effectively in their roles.
  • On live projects they will be the primary point of contact for the coordination of federated models, model production and uploading to the Common Data Environments (CDE). The BIM Coordinator will also host clash resolution meetings to go through the clash report findings with the project team.
  • They will champion the Build Sure philosophy by behaving in line with our values and collaborating with all internal departments to ensure alignment to the business mandated BIM strategy.
  • Support the BIM Manager with the setup of BIM on the project (processes, technology and data management).

Your profile:

  • In-depth working knowledge of Autodesk Revit & Navisworks Manage.
  • Experience running clash detection on live projects.
  • Solid understanding of producing 3D models/objects and data input.
  • Experience auditing models for BEP compliance, understanding of LODs.
  • Architectural or contracting background.
