JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for the supervision and development of assigned staff members. Ensures the assigned team (i.e. proposal, request for information) cycle is optimized, reports metrics to Management team and continually works to enhance the assigned team process. Participates in team review meetings with prospective and current customers, as necessary.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Line management responsibilities for direct reports. Responsible for professional development, performance appraisals, and employee counseling. Input on salary administration, interviewing and selection, terminations, position description preparation. Works with and advises staff on administrative policies and procedures, technical problems, priorities and methods.

• Enhances and refines the department process and participates in developing new development tools and/ or guidance documents.

• Provides management, training, and workload distribution for staff members. Provides guidance/support to staff with respect to general processes. Provides quality control of deliverables through review, verification, and evaluation of applicable written documents to assure agreement with measurable such as corporate strategy, metrics, cost estimates, client specifications, and any internal assumptions; verifies that processes are followed in compliance with departmental policies and procedures.

• Provides guidance to Subject Matter Experts (SME) based on prior experience and attending client meetings.

• Participates on special projects to improve the quality and efficiency of department processes.

• May provide innovative strategies during the development process to highlight any Company differentiators or planned innovations to ensure high quality service to customers.

• May provide risk mitigation strategies during the (proposal) development and (rebid) process to resolve any barriers, risks or issues related to delivering high quality proposals and budgets to customers.

• Serves as departmental contact within the Company for all issues related but not limited to experience reporting, requests, information libraries, and/or externally with sponsors and vendors.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES

• May prepare text for proposals and/or rebids as needed.

• Delivers training on the appropriate process and related tools.

• Performs other work-related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

• BA/BS degree or equivalent in a business or health related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience; plus moderate experience working in proposal development and/or the pharmaceutical or CRO industry (e.g., clinical operations, project management) and prior supervisory experience.

• Knowledge of the CRO industry, basic understanding of clinical operations, and the ability to follow-up on all issues in a timely fashion.

• Knowledge of medical terminology is preferred.

• Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), email, and voicemail.

• Superior analytical, negotiation and organizational skills with ability to prioritize and coordinate multiple departmental assignments.

• Above-average attention to detail, sound judgment, critical thinking, time management, decision making and problem solving skills.

• Excellent oral/written communication skills along with highly-developed interpersonal and strong team orientated skills.
