(Java) Software Engineer (m|f|x) - Inventory

The Product Area Inventory is responsible for everything connected to importing offers into the idealo system. Currently we are handling around 5 billion updates per day coming in through a range of sources: APIs, CSV, and XML.

Our tech stack consists of almost a hundred (micro) services running mostly in OpenShift with Spring Boot as a basis and communicating through synchronous and asynchronous technologies like RESTful APIs or Kafka. We are responsible from the first line of code up to the running systems. Our main focus is on backend systems but we also have a number of internal frontend systems to configure and monitor the import.

We strive to have a balance between fulfilling our customers’ needs and taking our tech stack to the next level by making our architecture more resilient and getting rid of technical debt wherever we see it.
