As part of our next intake of apprentices we are now looking for a Marketing and Sales Support Assistant to join our Professional Associations team.

The Role & The Team

Sales is the backbone of Haymarket’s business, as it is our commercial success that drives our continued investment in providing market leading content and innovative products. The sales teams are responsible for growing and managing the accounts of existing clients as well as generating new business from advertisers across our markets.

The Professional Associations sales teams are responsible for delivering the biggest revenues streams for two of our largest content marketing clients; Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development - CIPD and Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply - CIPS. Working primarily across digital solutions, the recruitment team and the display team deal with a wide variety of clients including recruitment consultancies, direct clients and advertising agencies.

The role therefore is very varied and a digitally focused one, that will give you an excellent grounding into how the advertising industry works, and the day to day functions of a sales team; as well as how the marketing function supports this team.

What you will learn:

  • An understanding of basic sales techniques
  • An understanding of the online recruitment marketplace
  • An understanding of digital advertising and digital recruitment solutions
  • An understanding of a varied client base including Recruitment Consultancies, direct clients and advertising agencies
  • To use CRM and bespoke client management platforms to maintain client records and book advertisement material across the PM and SM portfolio
  • To build relationships with, and provide support to Professional Association clients across the sales teams
  • How to deliver booked advertising campaigns and support the sales teams and clients by producing accurate and timely reports and statistics as necessary.
  • How to ensure that Haymarket’s clients are provided with the best possible advertising experience on the relevant job sites
  • How best to optimise all aspects of recruitment advertising across the PM and SM in order to achieve optimal response for the advertiser
  • The best ways to ensure all recruitment advertising is easily searchable and appearing under the correct discipline, sector, salary and location
  • To understand print and digital advertising and recruitment terminology and be able to converse with clients in a confident manner

Key Tasks:

  • Provide support to the sales team as required
  • Attend team meetings and understand overall team strategy
  • Be point of contact for incoming account queries from external customers, both over the phone and via email
  • Work with the relevant Managers to ensure all inventory included in bookings and contracts is delivered correctly and in a timely manner
  • Liaise with the Ad Ops team and complete relevant forms to ensure campaigns are delivered
  • Monitor advertising campaigns and highlight underperforming campaigns to the relevant members of the sales team
  • Conduct competitor monitoring and market share reports
  • Provide the sales team with scheduled and ad hoc stats reports on past advertising campaigns
  • Provide the sales team with scheduled and ad hoc stats reports on specific sectors/functions
  • Prepare contracts and proposals for clients with support from the sales team
  • Provide the sales team with up to date statistics each month on typical client APV and traffic reports
  • Ensure all reports are concise, accurate and on time
  • Resize and upload logos on client’s accounts
  • Check advertising received matches agreed specifications and requirements.
  • Identify and fix problems where possible, immediately seek support either internally or externally where necessary
  • Pursue and resolve complaints from advertisers
  • Liaise with Senior Marketing Manager on regular basis to understand and contribute to marketing campaigns associated to sales team activity
  • Work on any other ad-hoc duties as necessary.

Who you are:

  • Be flexible to help support your colleagues when necessary
  • You will have achieved at least 5 GSCE’s at grades A-C, and will preferably have attained at least 2 A Levels at grades C or above or an equivalent qualification.

  • We are based in Twickenham, which is a quick 20 minutes from central London, and easy access from Surrey.
  • The Apprenticeship Scheme is based on a Fixed Term Contract, between 12 - 24months (depending on role/qualification)
  • You get to Earn as you Learn! - We offer a competitive starting salary of £15,000pa. The apprenticeship qualification is covered and paid for by Haymarket as part of the Apprenticeship Levy scheme.
  • We work a 35 hour, full time week, with the option of Flexible Working hours and support a friendly, creative and collaborative culture, reflected in our open-plan working environment.
