As a Technical Infrastructure Project Manager, you are responsible for the delivery of the IT infrastructure projects and small change projects in line with the agreed timelines, budget, quality and scope to support the business and IT benefits and strategy. You will manage the project team and daily running of the project activities.

  1. To plan/coordinate/manage EUC & IT infrastructure Programmes, Projects and Small Changes on behalf of all teams in the Enterprise Operations & Infrastructure Delivery division.
  2. Manage and lead the project team effectively, ensuring the project is effectively resourced.
  3. When required take a hands-on approach for the implementation of the technical solution and deliverables.
  4. Be responsible for managing the work of all team members, including consultants, allocating and utilising resources in an efficient way and maintaining a co-operative, motivated and successful team.
  5. Responsible for discussing IT Infrastructure initiatives within EMEA, with the business and Third Party companies, to ensure understanding and agreement from a business and technical perspective as well as taking into account any country specific constraints and policies.
  6. Plan and coordinate the proposed solutions with the Infrastructure Enterprise and Domain Architects and the Infrastructure Solution Consultants, to ensure we provide secure and resilient IT solutions that meet business requirements and are in alignment with the Enterprise Architecture direction and standards and conform to Architecture Building Blocks.
  7. Construct, interpret and monitor test plans to verify correct operations of completed infrastructure solutions against their design objectives.
  8. Participates in the post implementation reviews with all relevant teams.
  9. Maintain a good technical knowledge of all IT Infrastructure technologies and product capabilities, and the technical frameworks in which they operate, to ensure good communication and understanding with Technical Specialist.
  10. Ensure detailed project plans are created within MS Project and ensure these are kept up to date with activities, timelines and resources for projects. For Small Change projects, the project status updates and reports are kept up to date in the agreed systems and dashboards.
  11. Undertake risk and issue management and manage escalations to relevant parties for resolution.
  12. Manage scope and change control and escalate issues where necessary.
  13. Provide status reporting and plan deviations for the project to project steering board, senior management, and IT Quality Gates.
  14. Conduct Learning Needs Analysis and identification of User training needs. Support design/delivery of user training programmes, providing project where required.

We are looking for someone with:

  • University degree, MBA preferable;
  • Project and Program management experience with cross functional teams;
  • Ideally experience with IT Infrastructure design and deployment projects, and have understanding of migration, functional & technical design and development, configuration, testing & release;
  • Excellent knowledge of Project Management methodologies and processes, Waterfall and/or Agile (i.e. Prince2, MSP, PMBOK, RUP, SCRUM, TOC-CC, etc);
  • Solid knowledge of Life Cycle and Service LevelManagement, IT methodologies (i.e. ITIL, COBIT, etc.);
  • Broad technical experience with and understanding of information technology at a level needed to interface between the different internal and external technical stakeholders;
  • Awareness of importance of information security to infrastructure design and implementation;
  • Demonstrated experience working in a European IT organisation with virtual and co-located project teams;
  • Experience with teams coming from different countries and cultural backgrounds;
  • Preferably has hands-on implementation experience with systems running on Office365, Cisco network systems, Microsoft Windows (Servers/Desktop), VMware, Linux and / or IBM platforms;
  • Fluent English, both written and spoken. Other European languages are also welcome;
  • Expertise in scoping, planning, coordinating, and communicating the activities and deliverables of multiple technology and business process workstreams;
  • Works independently, with guidance in only the most complex situations;
  • Good business knowledge & understanding of processes;
  • Is recognized as an expert in own area within the organization;
  • Provides specialized depth and/or breadth of expertise;
  • Interprets internal or external business issues and recommends solutions/best practices;
  • Solves complex problems; takes a broad perspective to identify solutions
