Role purpose:

We are seeking a talented and experienced IT Manger to manage the company’s Global Corporate Infrastructure Services team. With team spread across different locations, Italy and London, he/she will have focus on ensuring reliable technologies systems and services, available, up to date and compliant. The position requires strong management skills and technical knowledge in a range of systems across the core Microsoft Technology stack and a broad knowledge of infrastructure in general to which will be used to define our strategy and future road map. Experience in motivating others and organising day to day activities is essential to this role.

The successful candidate will be working closely with colleagues across the Corporate Technology Services teams in London, Bologna, US, Middle East & APAC and the wider business in delivering critical IT services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and line manage the Corporate Infrastructure Services Teams being responsible for:
  • Objective setting, tracking and performance evaluation
  • Coaching, mentoring and development of team members
  • Task planning and management
  • Ensure that team objectives are met (including operational service level agreements)
  • Providing assurance to the Corporate Technology Services management team the following areas:
  • Technical high and low-level designs and supporting documentation
  • Lead on implementation planning and commissioning
  • Provide guidance and expertise technology and project management teams
  • Develop, maintain and manage supporting technology systems such as backup, monitoring and configuration management
  • Work closely with the delivery management team to develop proposals in line with the Corporate Technology Services strategy by improving service reliability, reducing cost and standardising corporate systems.
  • Provide, on a consultative basis, technical expertise to the wider group. Develop trust and respect amongst Corporate Technology Services customers throughout the organisation, especially non-technical groups.
  • Develop excellent working relationships with Information Security and Compliance teams to ensure appropriate controls are in place, on a risk assessed basis, and are consistent with the Information Security Policy.
  • Ensure the Infrastructure services team follow Change Management process and maintain responsibility for all Infrastructure services changes, including the planning and implementation of updates.
  • Managing external supplier relationships, assuring that contractual commitments are met, and suppliers are delivering a value for money service.

Skills and Experience:

  • Experience of leading technical teams, developing great service management and quality driven teams
  • Excellent communication and organisation skills. Capable of translating and presenting technology concepts to non-technical colleagues and customers
  • High level experience of the following technology areas, with strong experience of at least 5:
  • Microsoft Active Directory Services
  • Microsoft o365
  • Microsoft Exchange
  • Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager
  • Microsoft System Center Operations Manager
  • Microsoft SharePoint
  • Microsoft SQL Server
  • Microsoft Windows Server and Services (i.e. Failover Clustering, File/Print Services, DHCP etc.)
  • VMware vCenter/ESX
  • EDM Environments
  • Knowledge and experience working within an ITIL style service environment. Preferably ITILv3 Foundation Qualified
  • Experience in working closely with vendors in running tender processes, agreeing SLA's and managing KPI's.
  • Analytical and logical approach to problem solving and strategic planning - working with the broader business to identify requirements and propose solutions.
  • Motivated individual, maintaining a positive attitude and dedicated work ethic
  • Able to respond promptly and communicate concisely and effectively
  • Excellent inter-personal skills, with the ability to deal with all levels of staff.
  • Ability to understand customers' business requirements and operations
  • Dynamic individual able to handle multiple streams of work simultaneously.
  • Confident approach, with the ability to establish credibility quickly within the IT teams globally, and the organisation as a whole
