We have an exciting job opportunity for an experienced Project Systems Assistant to work on the UK's largest infrastructure project based in Birmingham. High Speed 2 is a multi billion-pound project, which is a planned high-speed railway in the United Kingdom. HS2 railway will directly connect London, Birmingham, the East Midlands, Leeds and Manchester.

In this role you will be responsible for the ongoing development and support of project software systems and the end users. Supporting the project systems manager, you will be involved in a range of projects to develop new applications, deliver improvements to existing applications and improve integration across the project suite.

Key responsibilities and duties:

  • Support sister functions in the delivery of a digital platform.
  • Support the Land Manager in the specification and delivery of enhancements to the bespoke Land Access Management System
  • Work with internal partners and leadership to Identify and prioritise opportunities for efficiency and value add systems within the project, always keeping in mind the wider context.
  • Identify the processes needed to support new and existing systems and work with the systems manager to ensure procedures, agreement and guidance is in place for these to be followed.
  • Collect, document and communicate solution requirements to successfully address project need. This will also include breaking down these requirements into realistic delivery time frames.
  • Collaborate closely with IT and the Central Business Systems team to identify the best method of providing systems

Other responsibilities comprise of the exposure and utilisation of project data to create efficiencies as well as quickly guide staff attention to critical issues and lessons learned. These processes will also aide client reporting where possible. You will be a responsible technology leader ensuring Cyber Security is considered for all technology solutions along with arranging and providing appropriate training of users.

You will have a vast experience of managing third party suppliers and suppliers of IT Services combined with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
