Laing O’Rourke’s 2025 Mission to become the recognised leader for innovation and excellence in the construction industry is driven by innovation and with technical excellence in design, manufacturing and construction at its core.

We’ve been investing in off-site construction methods since 2006 and these specialist business units have been an integral part of our Design for Manufacture and Assembly philosophy, enabling us to deliver hospitals, offices, retail, and mixed-use developments. DfMA 70:60:30 is a proven approach employed by Laing O’Rourke across all sectors, where: 70% of the construction is conducted off-site, with a 60% improvement in productivity, and a 30% improvement in the project schedule.

Building on these experiences, we’re now challenging and changing the face of residential construction in the UK by extending this philosophy to deliver fully complete housing units and investing in a new market-disrupting automated facility the Advanced Manufacturing Facility (AMF).

AMF will help address the gap in housing supply by creating a new facility for thousands of new homes each year and help deliver the UK Industrial Strategy for Construction, as well as creating sustainable and highly skilled jobs and apprenticeships throughout the supply chain.

We would love to hear how you can help us bring this vision to life.
