Project Information Manager

Location: London – Liverpool Street

Laing O’Rourke have an excellent opportunity to join one of our Infrastructure projects in London. Develop your career in our new Project Information Management position for Laing O'Rourke, one of the UK’s most advanced, and innovative, engineering and business services specialists.

In this role you will be responsible for supporting the planning function with successful management of the programme’s technical documentation and the document control and working with technical author teams.

You will be able to put your stamp on one of the UK’s major infrastructure projects and use the latest technology and techniques, using your technical expertise to effectively manage and support internal and external professionals.

Taking charge of team of document controllers, you will be the key person in managing the data and engaging with the various stakeholders.

Duties:

  • Manage a team of staff to deliver an exceptional Information Management service to the project inclusive of reception services
  • To prepare, agree and communicate project Information Management plans to deliver the service with support of Regional Information Management team
  • Management of EDMS
  • Effective communication with the Client information management teams.

Additional activities include:

As part of the role you will be responsible for a team of up to 3 document controllers. Using your knowledge of past projects to agree and deliver the information in preparation for key meetings and dates.

Although the role does not require a technical background if you have been on infrastructure projects before and understand technical documentation and systems it will enable you to hit the ground running. However, you will still naturally develop this skill set in the post so it is not essential.

The Information Manager will establish duties for the teams and assign tasks to the appropriate person who is best suited to that task. The role will enable you to mentor and develop professionals you will be responsible for.

The project has more than one Document Control system and the Information Manager will be responsible for the quality, consistency and access of these systems. Using their knowledge to deliver effective training to the team and ensure the correct procedures are adhered to.

We are currently using A-site and EB (Bentley) software on the project so knowledge would be beneficial but not essential.
