Purpose of the Role

To support the Reward and Policy team in reward cycle activities and projects. Assist in developing and maintaining NATS employment policies, and to act as a point of contact across the business on reward activities and employment policies providing advice and guidance as appropriate.

Accountabilities

  • Support with aspects of reward activities such as pensions, benefits, pay reviews, bonus reviews and job evaluation
  • Working with the team to ensure the Reward & Policy HUB content is maintained and up to date
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships and ensure pro-active communications with all relevant parties (employees, line managers, HR team, Corporate Comms)
  • Pro-actively contribute to improving the ways of working e.g. standardisation, simplification and consistency
  • Administration of tasks associated with the company pension schemes
  • Assisting the Reward Partners in developing and advising on appropriate revisions to NATS Terms and Conditions of Employment and other policies
  • Assist the Reward Partners to ensure HR Business Partners and the HR community are aware of Reward and Policy activity. Review and coordinate communications to employees through various channels
  • A member of the Job Evaluation team and provision of appropriate market data as required.
  • Involvement in designated reward projects as directed by the Reward Partners or Head of Reward
  • Following instruction from the Reward Partners, research and review employment legislation.
  • Assist in the implementation of legislative requirements into policy as recommended i conjunction with HR Business Partners, Line Managers and the Trade Union
  • Assist in providing advice and interpretation on the application of HR policies, procedures and legislation to managers and the HR community

Qualifications, Experience, Skills and Personal Qualities

  • A qualification in HR or relevant experience in reward or policy is desirable
  • Ability to identify and deal with work in a proactive solution-focused manner
  • The ability to build and maintain good relationships with internal and external partners
  • Capable of adhering to tight deadlines in a fast-paced and challenging environment
  • Self-motivation and ability to develop within the role
  • Self-confident and persuasive as the role will involve working with senior management and NATS Trade Union.
  • A broad understanding of Reward, Policy & Employment Law
  • Excellent written communication skills (written and verbal) are necessary as the post holder will be required to draft letters, communications, policies, etc. Excellent attention to detail.
  • Good organisational skills and ability to challenge.
  • Be able to work independently with minimum supervision and have excellent planning and prioritising skills as the nature of this work means a flexible approach is required.
  • Numerical and analytical skills, as demonstrated by competence in Microsoft Office packages
