SSE IT

SSE IT underpins the technology needs of all the different businesses that make up the SSE group. From emerging technologies to data and analytics to cyber security – we power SSE’s growth and enable it to generate value, while keeping it secure. As a trusted business partner that helps SSE lead in a low carbon world, we are proud of our service. Working for SSE IT is all about equipping SSE for now and the future.

Our Role

SSE’s Networks Oracle team, within Networks IT, provides application support for middleware technologies delivered as part of our Networks IT Roadmap. We act as the process and system owners of integration points between the various applications using the Oracle Fusion technologies SOA, OSB, BPEL and ODI.

Working with Oracle Fusion architects and other developers to support the expanding workload in this area, you’ll be part of a team that analyses system requirements and you’ll design, test, code and modify Fusion SOA, OSB and ODI applications. You’ll also have the opportunity to work on complex projects.

Your Skills and Experience

You should have Fusion development experience as well as Fusion analysis, design and development skills. In addition to your experience with Fusion technologies, knowledge of XML, C# and PLSQL will also be beneficial.

As you’ll be involved at the design and development level throughout the full software development life cycle, a systematic approach to problem solving is important. You’ll also be able to take ownership of requests and prioritise your own workload within demanding schedules.

At SSE, our job is to provide the energy people need in a reliable and sustainable way. We're involved in producing, distributing and supplying electricity and gas and we provide other energy-related services as well. SSE is the only company listed on the London Stock Exchange involved in such a wide range of energy businesses.
