This role is working within our Glassolutions division who are the glass partners for building professionals. They are the largest processor, distributor and repairer of glazing systems in the UK. With a heritage stretching back 150 years, it’s become a £60M turnover business operating from 11 locations.

Due to the continued success and growth we have a great opportunity for an experienced Site Manager to join us at our production site in Motherwell.

As Site Manager you will be part of the senior leadership team and play an integral role in providing a seamless service to our customers. You will effectively manage and lead cross functional teams including; planning, production, transport, maintenance to achieve these goals. You will drive production and manufacturing to keep in line with business plans and make improvements in Safety, Health, Environmental.

As Site Manger you will take a leading role in a number key areas including;

  • Environment, Health and Safety
  • Customer satisfaction
  • Quality
  • Team Leadership -
  • Performance / Production KPI’s
  • Sustainable Leadership Communication and Working Relationships

You will coordinate a busy manufacturing facility producing in excess of 3K units per day at its peak. You will achieve this by active communicate with all team members to motivate around the company vision.

Your focus will be the delivery of a first class service by adopting and enhancing policies and procedures and techniques across the site including; H&S, Quality, Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement

What kind of person are we looking for?

In order to be successful in this role, you should have;

  • Degree/HNC qualified, or equivalent, preferably in a manufacturing, engineering or business discipline
  • Previous extensive experience in a manufacturing / production environment
  • Green Belt or WCM Instructor/Practitioner qualification is desirable
  • IOSH Managing Safely Certificate or similar is desirable
  • Production planning experience essential
  • Exposure to implementing continuous improvement cultural change
  • People management experience (supervision) essential
  • Strong IT skills and a good knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and manufacturing software
  • Strong planning and organisation skills and a high level of attention to detail
