What does the role involve?
The Category Management department is responsible for the growth of PepsiCo’s various product categories, which include those of Chips, Nuts and Cereals! The team is looking for an intern for a period of 6 months starting from August 2019, who works on strategies and initiatives based on category-, retail-, and shopper insights to ensure this delivery growth. This internship gives you the chance to gain a lot of knowledge about the categories and about the behavior of its shoppers! We are looking for a curious and enthusiastic intern who will support the managers of the various categories and intersperse to ensure success!
In this role, you support in the category management team in both growth initiatives at our customers and internal PepsiCo projects. You will work with Nielsen sales data, shopper research and GFK household panel data to conduct both structural and ad-hoc analysis on performance, threat's and opportunities within the category. Based on the outcomes you will translate your insights gained into recommendations for the retailer and PepsiCo. Examples are evaluation of 2nd location, new shelving plans, product innovations.
You will report to the Category Manager Chips and Nuts and will work closely with the other Category Managers as well. For retailer projects you will work a lot with Account Managers and their Interns. For internal projects like monitoring or introduction of New Product Developments, you will work with the Brand Managers and their Interns. For gathering specific data and additional shopper research you will cooperate with the Business Analytics department.

Who are we looking for?
You are an eager and enthusiastic student or graduate with:
• WO Bachelor or Master with an affinity for Business, Economics, and/or Marketing (graduated max. 3 months);
• Strong analytical skills and enjoys making analyses;
• Proactive working attitude, can work independently on projects and thereby set priorities;
• Persistence when you are facing challenges;
• Strong communication skills to be able to communicate with people from various departments;
• Good understanding of English;
• Experience in using Word, Excel and PowerPoint;• you have genuine interest in how the company operates in this area and are keen on keeping track of the latest developments in the world of digitalization.
