We are looking to recruit an Archivist for the Laura Ashley archive based in London. This is a full time position, reporting into the CAD manager.
This position would suit a recent graduate studying archiving, curation or design history.
The role will require the candidate to care for and maintain collections within the archive, strong administration skills are key. In addition the candidate will be responsible for imputing accurate data and images onto the product archive database. There is also a degree of manual handling of artwork and products.
Further, the Archivist will be required to answer requests made to the department from both internal and external sources in an efficient and accurate manner, with customer facing skills a key requisite.
An interest in Laura Ashley and its history is essential, along with an interest in design history, fashion and textiles.
The role also requires established security procedures to be strictly adhered to in order to protect all items within the archive.
Candidates must have excellent communication skills, both written and oral. Excellent IT skills and the ability to work alone using own initiative. This role will require a logical and methodical approach.
Any previous archive experience is desirable.
