We have engineers that simply enjoy being hands on and fixing issues and but we also have a track record of developing our engineers into consultancy, global infrastructure, service manager and project manager roles.

A fantastic new opportunity has arisen for a Customer Engineer to join our engineering force based in Hatfield. You will be working between our Configuration Centre teams and Mobile Support team assisting to meet tight project deadlines and customer SLA’s. In addition, you may be required to work occasionally on customer sites. You will play a key role in ensuring we deliver on time and every time.

Role Responsibility

Configuration, a part of Supply Chain services is responsible for laptop, desktop, server and mobile device configuration, asset tagging and deployment management. Working within the Operations Centre in Hatfield, the environment can be high pressure, working toward daily targets and strict SLA’s. As a part of the configuration team, you will be key to successful BAU and project deployment, configuring and imaging new kit to dispatch to our customer base globally.

The Mobile Support Team operates hardware repair and swap services for our customers. The types of devices managed through this service range from a low end desk telephone swap, to a configured device, such as a fully personalised laptop. Working in this team, you will be working to SLA’s in order to repair and refurbish customer devices to a high standard.

In this role you will be responsible for configuring devices, providing hardware fixes, and where necessary providing basic to intermediate level support and troubleshooting services to customer sites.

As an engineer on a customer site you will be working directly with end users, utilising a broad range of knowledge and understanding of hardware and software to help solve problems and assist with issues. This part of the role will require excellent customer service skills, adaptability and the ability to think on your feet.

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will be a team player who is able to quickly adapt to change, understand and action instructions efficiently and have the ability to work autonomously when required. In addition, the ideal candidate will have IT experience in a similar environment (though this is not required) and will be comfortable working in a workshop one day and in a customer facing role the next day.
