Description
Job location: Wolverhampton, UK, WV9 5EU
Responsible for assessing & assuring compliance to the animal welfare standards throughout the supply chain
Monitoring compliance of antibiotic usage and standards; investigating any deviations
Responsible for the microbiological surveillance of suppliers and collaboratively solving any changes in performance
Managing the implementation of new policy standards with suppliers Supply chain auditing, visiting raw material suppliers to ensure compliance to requirements and applicable legislation
Create audit reports, define corrective actions and follow up implementation plans; in the event of non-conformances, ensure they are escalated to the relevant parties, including but not limited to the technical supplier specialist team, procurement and commercial teams
Accountable for the approval of new suppliers to the business supply chain
Create a culture of relationship management to ensure strong relationship with suppliers
Support customer enquiries at all stages of the supply chain
Maintain a library of up to date information such as supplier specifications that can be accessed at short notice
Requirements for the position:
Formal Veterinarian qualification and/or proven experience in Poultry production is preferred (other meat inspection experience would be considered)
Bachelors / Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Meat Science or equivalent
A solid understanding of technical food safety and quality documentation
High ethical standards, with the wiliness to ‘challenge the status quo’
Experience in a complex multi-site/ multi-supplier organisation would be preferred but not essential
An engaging, positive approach with a ‘can do’ mentality, who can solve problems and communicate with people at all levels
Comfortable with change and ambiguity and able to prioritise effectively
Strong data analytical skills, any experience with data systems i.e. Enablon, SAP would be a plus
A ‘continuous improvement’ mentality
Fluent in English (written and spoken), other European languages would be desirable, e.g. French or Dutch
Due to the multi-site nature of Cargill, frequent European travel will be required
