Job Description

Field based medical role to build scientific partnerships with Healthcare Professionals and decision makers through evidence based and non-promotional scientific exchange activities. Strategically support development and prepare launch, commercialization and Life Cycle Management (LCM) of drug products through education, clinical trial support, research activities and scientific exchange and engagement with Medical Experts / Key Stakeholders / members of the scientific community as well as regional government or regulatory authorities and payers. Seek external insights to shape AAA commercial and development programs. Compliant with applicable policies, procedures and regulations.

Medical Expert Partnership

Develops long term professional relationships, builds advocacy with and gains contributions from regional, national and international Medical Experts (ME), Health Care Professionals (HCP) and Decision Makers (DM)

Shares and discusses scientific data with HCPs to ensure quality and accuracy of medical / scientific information. Conveys and coordinates feedback and insights to the organization for strategic consideration

Provides speakers training upon request

Scientific Exchange

Educates HCPs and stakeholders of government or regulatory authorities and payers on novel emerging data and pipeline platforms

Provides responses to Medical Inquiry Requests as appropriate

Cooperates with AAA GMA teams to actively support GMA Scientific projects (medical and scientific meetings by collecting and summarizing insights / competitive intelligence / developing and running presentations / managing HCO engagement and communications)

Scientific Projects

Identifies and supports potential research opportunities that are consistent with AAA medical and business strategies including registries, epidemiology projects, HEOR, preclinical or translational research

Facilitates Investigator Initiated Trials as appropriate

Clinical Trial Support

Provides medical support as part of a cross-functional team to relevant clinical trials

Feasibility and quality research site recommendations

Educational activities to support study accrual

Internal AAA support

Provides medical support and training (i.e. disease state) to AAA colleagues (e.g. MSLs, KAMs, Market Access) as appropriately requested

Contributes to mapping / profiling of MEs / DMs in line with AAA business strategies

Corporate Image and Compliance

Contributes to a credible image of AAA CPO

Ensures GCP, SOPs, compliance and local requirements are fulfilled

Minimum requirements

Education:

MD, PharmD, pharmacist, PhD and other life sciences or equivalent with solid medical/technical background and proven competencies including influencing, negotiation, presentation skills, clinical research insight, business and market knowledge

Language(s):

  • English fluent (oral and written)

Experience/Professional requirements:

  • >2 years of relevant oncology postdoctoral, academic, government or pharma industry experience, preferable in a customer facing role
  • Ability to develop and foster credible relationships with MEs / DMs
  • Ability to understand and convey emergent scientific information
  • Knowledge of oncology clinical medicine, disease management and medical research in at least one therapeutic area
  • Basic knowledge of the Healthcare System and of the research procedures as well as ICH guideline, GCP and other ethical guidelines relevant to the pharmaceutical industry
  • Strong personal integrity and customer focus
  • Excellent interpersonal communication, negotiation and advanced presentation skills
  • Able to effectively contribute and work in multifunctional teams
  • Able to adapt, organize, prioritize and work effectively in a constantly changing field base environment
