In the UK we share Microsoft’s global vision to empower every person and organisation to achieve more; but we also pursue a wide range of initiatives with particular resonance and relevance to the UK. From working responsibly and sustainably to ensuring that the technology we create makes life better - not just for our customers, partners and employees, but for everyone. That’s why we are constantly investing in three key areas:
- In Education
We are born to learn.
At Microsoft, we understand the real value of technology lies in the skills it builds, the opportunities it creates, and the horizons it broadens. That’s why we are empowering the education community with a wide range of products, services and programmes that help transform learning and make it more accessible.
- In Business
We are driven to succeed.
Whether supporting start-ups and SMEs, promoting apprenticeships though our Partner network, or reimagining business productivity in radical new ways, Microsoft UK is all about ensuring today’s workplace really does ‘work’ for everyone.
- In Society
We are committed to people.
In ensuring all our products, processes and practices are safe, secure and always accessible, we're proud to work with many leading charities, businesses and organisations committed to the same high ethical standards. These are just some of the ideals we champion in spirit and action.
At Microsoft we believe the way we work affects all our stakeholders, including our customers, employees, suppliers and shareholders - as well as their communities. Furthermore, these values also need to apply to the thousands of suppliers and partners we work with worldwide.
To ensure this, we follow stringent standards for Citizenship reporting, including the Global Reporting Initiative and Carbon Disclosure Project. These are just some of the key areas covered by our commitment to responsible and diligent Citizenship Reporting.
Environmental Responsibility - Microsoft either meets or exceeds a wide range of verified global standards, not least in sustainability, responsible sourcing.
Carbon Reduction - In 2012, Microsoft embarked on a challenging carbon reduction strategy that saw us achieve global carbon neutrality less than two years later - one of only a handful of global technology companies to do so.
Engagement & Partnership - We actively seek input on social, economic and environmental issues with key stakeholders, investors, NGOs and issue-advocacy organisations, as well as partnering with organisations like the World Economic Forum and the Clinton Global Initiative to better respond to key issues affecting our business.
Come as you are, do what you love at Microsoft UK.
Welcome to Microsoft UK. Over the last three decades, Microsoft has consistently transformed the way that people live, work, play and connect through great technology. We are inspired every day by the genuine belief that we can change the world for the better. Here on our UK website you'll find out more about how we are driving advances in cloud computing, developing new ways for people to interact with technology at home, at work and on the move, while transforming education and public services and supporting the UK economy.
Microsoft is still a young company. We've been at the centre of the revolutionary changes that technology has brought to every aspect of our lives and we'll be at the centre of tomorrow's transformations. The best is yet to come.
At Microsoft we hire all sorts of people. Of course we want those who can create ideas and build technology, but equally as important we also embrace those who can sell and market the finished products to individuals and organisations across the world.
We look for people who can listen, understand the needs of others and ensure that they get the very best out of all that we are offering. We also love to have people in the background working out how we are getting on with all of this, thinking about what we could do differently or do better, analysing data and reporting back. As such we hire across all areas of the business, so whatever you’ve studied it doesn’t matter, there’s a role for everyone. Put simply, you don’t have to be a computer scientist to work at Microsoft!
We have a fantastic culture and work ethos where you can achieve real meaning from your work that suits your personal philosophy. We enable you to develop and, if you join us, you’ll become exposed to our fantastic, inclusive, global culture and way of working.
On top of this, you’ll also gain insight into our new launches and initiatives while quickly becoming a dedicated fan of our exciting products and services.
