At McKinsey, we have a tradition that all those departing for new adventures send a good-bye email to their colleagues. It’s a great source of inspiration to see how McKinsey prepares people to go on to accomplish their goals – inside and outside of the firm.
“After spending 12 years away from my home country, I have decided to take the plunge and move back to my university town, #Sydney. I’ve accepted a position with Kantar Vermeer, a subsidiary company of WPP, in marketing – my original field of study. I am looking forward to learning to surf and making a habit of posting ridiculously awesome photos on Instagram of sun, beaches and tropical cocktails.
I spent the last two years with McKinsey, as a member of the #Marketing & #Sales practice, based in #London. It has been an adventure. Like everyone at the firm, I have experienced some ups and downs, and feel I have emerged a sharper, smarter and more self-aware individual. My time at the firm has transformed me. I have never felt more accepted for who I am than I have at McKinsey, and I feel very blessed to have developed such a fabulous group of friends, without whom I wouldn’t have gotten through.
The highlight of my experience here has been helping lead the office challenge School of McRock. It enabled me to fulfil my lifelong dream of being a rockstar (literally) and to meet some supremely talented and wonderful people.
Yours in rock,
