JigsawPlus Clients have been working hard each week looking after the garden at our Life Skills Centre in Guildford. They have been earthing-up potatoes planted earlier in the year, grass cutting and weeding as well as potting-on tomato and rosemary seedlings ready for planting out as the weather warms up. JigsawPlus are tremendously proud of one of their Clients for improving his swimming skills during his weekly lessons and for having the courage to swim in the deep end on his own recently. This has marked a great step forwards in his self-confidence and the increased levels of general independence his Learning Support Workers are focusing on with him. An enormous thank you to Ripley Court School for an incredible donation of £2,404 following their annual 'Ripley's Got Talent' charity event. The money will go towards our Horticulture Project, specifically a new Shed to securely store the pupils' gardening equipment as well as providing a small covered workshop area. Pupils also took part in a short session covering What is Autism? & Methods of Communication to help them understand a little more about Jigsaw and how we deliver individualised education plans throughout the School. Thank you again to all the Ripley Court pupils, friends and families who have helped provide a super new resource for our pupils - we greatly appreciate it. More at: wu.to/gjQN94
