This pancake house on the outskirts of Utrecht opened in 1983 in a beautiful historic building, not knowing that later on they would have 15 branches. Some of their values are the best quality Dutch pancakes served with personal service. Sounds appealing, right? But if you are not convinced yet, keep reading because the best is yet to come.
De Pannekoekenbakker offers:
- 96 savoury pancakes ranging from €9.00 to €15.80 – ham, bacon, salami
- 127 sweet pancakes ranging from €6.50 to €16.50 – all kinds of fresh fruit, honey, maple syrup
- 47 cheese pancakes ranging from €8.80 to €16.90 – brie, mozzarella, gorgonzola, etc.

Frenchie café
This pancake place in Utrecht is a MUST-visit! Frenchie café presents their food in a very Instagrammable way (I mean check their Instagram, and you will see). Famous for its freakshakes, Frenchie café is also known for its American pancakes. Let’s get straight to it:

Ted’s Place
Something to keep in mind with Ted’s Place in Utrecht is that that place served the entire menu during the whole day. So if you feel like eating a pancake at 9:00 pm or if you want a Cosmopolitan with your breakfast before 10:00 am, they will bring it to you without looking at you like a weirdo.
What Ted’s place offers on their menu are banana pancakes 2.0 with gooey marshmallows, banana slices, hazelnut crumble and Nutella drizzles for €11.00.
Can’t exactly call it a pancake place in Utrecht but we can say it is a place that offers pancakes. And it is only 9 minutes away walking distance from Central Station.

30ml coffee roasters
Only a 4-minute walk from Utrecht Central Station, position right across Starbucks, this pancake place has a lot to offer. In 2017, 30ml won the Best Coffee Concept 2017 award. 30ml is an expert in roasting coffee so you can imagine that their coffee must taste very aromatic and nice.
To go with that, they offer American buttermilk pancakes served with maple syrup. Clear, to the point, tasty and affordable. You can make a choice between:
- Pancakes espresso for €7.95 – banana and chocolate-espresso sauce
- Pancakes blueberries and fresh fruit €7.95
- Pancakes bacon €7.95
- High tower – double the amount of pancakes for €12.00
We would personally go for the High tower because duuh, it must be huge! But hey, not everybody is as greedy for pancakes as we are.

Cafe de binnenstad
Cafe de binnenstad is not only what we call a pancake place in Utrecht but also one of those typical Dutch bars. Only a 6-minute walk it from Utrecht Central Station, it is easily reachable at any point of the day. The pancake choices are a bit more basic, but some people like basic!
It’s funny how the pancakes and the kids menu have been combined into one but don’t let that stop you from having your favourite dessert. You can choose from natural, bacon, cheese, apple, De binnenstad specialty and a few more costing you between €7.50 and €9.25 depending on your choice.

GYS Utrecht
We have talked about GYS before in our vegan brunch places blog. It still remains the place with 100% organic comfort food. There are two locations of GYS, 10 and 12 minutes walking distance from Utrecht Central Station, but today we will focus on the second pancake place, namely GYS Voorstraat.
One of the options on the breakfast menu is pancakes for €8.50 – gluten-free and vegan. And the pancakes come with chocolate and banana, and raspberry just like on the picture above. Delicious right?
