Job Description

We are looking for Finance Graduates for a 25th September 2017 start. Salary - £22,000

The Role

Tata Steel is one of the world’s most geographically diversified steel producers, with operations in 26 countries and commercial offices in over 35 countries. The manufacture of world-leading steel products is underpinned by cutting-edge technology. Information & Communication Technology is responsible for the Information Technology (IT) our employees use to do their jobs, from the business systems that power the back office to the front line support and operation systems. ICT manage information use throughout the business, ensuring the safety, availability and integrity of all forms of data and structures that support it.

As a member of the ICT team, you could be working on Information Management, Information Systems Coordination, Information Analysis, or even Information Security. The possibilities are as broad and far-ranging as our business; what remains constant is the career-making, in-depth experience you’ll gain of our business-critical functions.

The Prospects

ICT is split into core parts: Business Analysis; Solution Analysis; Architecture. We need analytically-minded, client-focused individuals in each of these areas. We’ll support you as you get to grips with business processes, technology and architecture.

Business analysis:

If you understand business processes and technology, this role is an opportunity to build your capabilities in process change, change management and project implementation. You must have the ability to derive requirements for IT change, share and explain best practice and understand the business process through which users engage with systems and functionality. The ability to support users in final User Acceptance Testing, and to prepare/support change implementation, is vital.

Solution Analysis:

Our systems depend on complex architecture and integration. You will focus on business process architecture, application integration and Tata Steel proprietary knowledge within data, applications, infrastructure and services. You’ll quickly gain an understanding of the overall architecture within the business process, ensuring that recommendations come to life through the delivery lifecycle by contributing to, and assuring, successful delivery.

Architecture:

An opportunity to apply architecture principles and practices to guide through the operational, information, process and technology changes that are necessary to execute key business strategies. You’ll gain constant exposure to new market developments and trends.

The Requirements

You must have at least a 2:2 Degree, in a relevant subject area such as Mathematics, Digital or Computer Science, or similar. You also need to be a natural problem-solver who is able to define issues, systematically gather and analyse data and identify cause & effects in order to work towards achievable solutions. Much of your work will be client-facing, so excellent interpersonal skills are vital.

As part of a global organisation, it’s also vital that you understand and engage with our culture. We’re passionate about achievement, excellence and breakthrough thinking, and people at every level here have a thirst for developing their knowledge. You’ll embrace change with enthusiasm, take ownership of issues and inspire others towards a culture of innovation.

Wherever your interest or specialism lays this is a position within the industry that will enable you to develop throughout your career with a diversity you will not find anywhere else.

The European operations of Tata Steel comprise Europe's second largest steel producer. With main steelmaking operations in the UK and the Netherlands, we supply steel and related services to the construction, automotive, packaging, lifting & excavating, energy & power, aerospace and other demanding markets worldwide.
