The application of solar energy is growing rapidly worldwide. The business opportunities are enormous. Solarplaza is a global solar news platform and leading organizer of high-level B2B conferences and trade missions in this industry. To further grow our business, we are looking for a young, analytical, hard-working and highly motivated intern to support our editorial team.

This is a marvelous opportunity for an ambitious self-disciplined student to join a young, rapidly growing international company in a dynamic, international B2B environment.

Note: Contract duration is 5 to 9 months for 20 to 40 hours per week.

About the role

The Research Analyst Intern, under the guidance of the Marketing & Design Team Leader, is responsible for the production of high-level articles, content reports and market overviews to support the company’s Marketing & Editorial campaigns.

Solarplaza empowers the energy transition by providing our readers and subscribers with articles, reports, studies and analysis about the most relevant solar topics and trends. Our editorial team (a mix of internal editors and external journalists) produces original articles, data-overviews, country reports, whitepapers and webinar (summaries).

Daily tasks will include: staying updated on the most recent industry news; coordinating new content ideas with both the Marketing and Project Management teams; conducting research and interviews to gather valuable input; and writing the needed content pieces within set deadlines and maintaining high journalistic standards.

Key Responsibilities and Challenges:

  • Analytical and research-oriented. You are quick and resourceful in collecting information and executing effective web/bibliographic research; know how to recognize reliable sources and quote them in articles; can easily aggregate, manipulate and interpret raw data to extract valuable insights.
  • You have a writer’s soul. You like reading and writing, and have a talent for drafting well-structured, clear-to-understand and fluid texts in English, whatever the subject may be. Your written English is excellent and your storytelling skills keep readers engaged until the very last word. You quickly provide the copy needed for marketing materials and event websites on one side, articles and reports for the editorial strategy on the other.
  • Hard-work and determination. You are a fast learner and can pick up tasks and new responsibilities quickly and with enthusiasm. Training and guidance will be provided, but you don’t mind finding your own way to reach the final result on time, and don’t need extensive explanations and procedures to follow. You are resolute and do not give up until targets are met.
  • International environment: You enjoy working with internationals, feel natural in using English as a primary language, are eager to improve your business English and practice other languages while working with stakeholders in all countries (and time zones).

Requirements:

  • Enrolled in (Applied) University degree (Bachelors/Masters) in either (1) business, economics, or technical-scientific subjects with great writing skills, or (2) journalism, communication with great analytical skills and business/financial understanding.
  • Proficient in English (both written and spoken)
  • Excellent copywriting skills.
  • Proficiency in other languages beside English will be a plus.
  • Passion for sustainability/renewable energy will be a plus.
