Pon Datalab is looking for an intern who can help us build an international analytical community. Are you creative, a self-starter and not afraid to approach colleagues all over the world? Then please check out our proposition!
THE ASSIGNMENT
As part of Pon Datalab, the Pon analytical academy started in the summer of 2016. A team of highly skilled analytical professionals that train Pon employees throughout all businesses to improve data-driven approach and analytical skills globally. So far, there have been 2 academies of 4 weeks with 15 Pon employees from all over the world. Our aim is to create an analytical community with these people and spread the word about the importance and business value of data.
Currently, with our present effort, we are unable to keep the community alive and informing the organisation about our training courses. We need a creative mind to support us.
At the beginning, you will interview different analytical experts of our team and the academy team to fully understand what Pon Datalab and the analytical courses are about.

THE TEAM
Pon Datalab started in 2015 with the idea that there is a lot of data available on the web: data about our industry, prospects, competitors, activities from our customers and opinions about our products. At the time, most insights were based on data from internal systems. A team of young data scientist was created not only to analyse Pon’s own data, but to combine Pon’s data with outside sources (e.g. company websites, news sites, social media, forums, blogs, etc.) and create actionable insights to gain a competitive advantage. The strength of our team lies in analysing large amounts of unstructured and complex data, with for example text analysis and statistical models.
Pon Datalab works for all Pon companies and their products such as bicycles, automobiles, ships and earthmoving equipment. It is the team within Pon that will bring new insights, innovation and growth. Pon Datalab uses the latest technologies in analytics and has been awarded with a number of different awards in the analytics field.
Mobiliteit brengt je verder. Daar zijn we bij Pon van overtuigd. In 1895 begonnen we als kleinschalig familiebedrijf. Ondertussen zijn we wereldleider in mobiliteitsoplossingen. Met ruim 16.000 ondernemende collega’s zetten we elke dag opnieuw miljoenen mensen en goederen in beweging.
Persoonlijke ontwikkeling wordt gestimuleerd. Naast de manager bij het bedrijf waar je een project draait, word je begeleid door iemand vanuit het traineeship en een coach. Bovendien volg je allerlei trainingen. Ook leuk: het contact met andere trainees. We zijn een hechte groep vrienden geworden.
Mijn eindscriptie was gefocust op de perfecte klantreis; wat willen klanten wél en wat juist niet. Om dit te kunnen bepalen had ik contact met klanten en ik kreeg daar veel energie van. Nu sta ik echt dicht bij het vuur, de dealers en de klanten en dat maakt mijn traineeship heel divers en leerzaam.
