As a trainee you will join a 2-year program, in which you will be fulfilling 2 or 3 challenging assignments in different departments and sectors within Philips. For some of our trainees it is even an option to work abroad. The traineeship focusses on ‘learning on the job’, mentoring and training. You are responsible for

We have several assignments (location Amsterdam, Best or Eindhoven) available and within the marketing trainee positions, each assignment has a specific focus.

  • The Market-to-Order (M2O) team is pivotal in facilitating the business and markets collaboration from strategic planning towards operational planning and execution. To deliver on that, the team performs analysis and manages versatile projects and programs with global teams. A trainee joining the team will learn about the medical equipment business, strategic and operational analysis, marketing planning and implementation, global programs management, change management and collaboration in an international team (in-person and virtually).
  • The Global Brand, Communications & Digital Marketing team is responsible for driving digital marketing for the digital world, and create innovative transformation strategy and roadmaps to support Philips becoming digital company. Group Digital is driving the group marketing strategy and roadmap for the digital marketing domain.
  • Healthcare IT – Cardiology Informatics: this assignment is primarily focused on product management and/or marketing activities. This means, you drive a consistent customer experience across all customer touch points (e.g co-developing and executing (parts of) a marketing plan; pricing and positioning, as well as aligning channel and promotion strategies with colleague product managers and field marketing representatives in the markets.) You support new product introductions, and/or develop associated (digital) marketing initiatives and campaigns.
  • Customer Services Imaging: You will work in a highly motivated team within Customer Services of our Philips Diagnosis and Treatment Business and predominantly work with stakeholders in markets across the globe. Centrally you will work with the marketing team consisting of product-, marketing-, program-, and pricing managers.
  • Benelux Brand, Communications & Digital team: You will be responsible for the development and deployment of CRM programs to enhance Philips’ direct contact with its customers in the local market. You will define the to design and develop a tailor-made program fit to serve different customer’s needs, adding customer experience and -value thus creating a competitive edge in the market by offering exclusivity and customer engagement.
  • Global Consumer Marketing team of IPL Female Hair Removal: You will work with local sales organizations across the globe and support them with the latest product launches, as well as with the Innovation Site and (internal and external) creative agencies to ensure product marketing and activation deliveries. You also get the opportunity to influence business plans and management communications by supporting small product development projects.
  • Kitchen appliances commercial team: you will enable the local marketing teams via alignment with the global commercial/marketing team, to achieve targets through outstanding support (e.g. own the performance tracker, global and per key market; coordinate and analyze data using multiple tools, share learnings, suggest improvement actions, and deliver business reviews as required

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

  • Recently graduated or will graduate latest August 2018 with a Master’s Degree in the directions of Marketing, Business administration, Economics or studies in which technology and business are combined (i.e. Innovation Management, Industrial Engineering, Design, Digital);
  • Max 1 years of work experience straight after your graduation;
  • Excellent inter-personal and communication skills, so you can persuade colleagues at all ranks in the organization;
  • International experience or an international mindset and the ability to use internal and external resources to maximize the value for the company and its customers;
  • Project and change management skills;
  • Self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit, eager and ambitious.
  • Speak and write fluent English.

As a trainee you will receive a contract for the period of 3 years, with excellent labor conditions.

Recruitment Process

When you are interested to join the Philips’ traineeship, please apply online latest 31st of January 2018

  • upload your CV, motivation and grade list;
  • if you pass the pre-selection round you will be invited at the beginning of February 2018 to make an online ability test
  • if you achieve the required score on this test, you will be invited for the Selection Days in Eindhoven, the Netherlands (8th of March 2018);
  • the most suitable candidates will be invited to the Traineeship Business Challenge Event in the Netherlands on the 5th & 6th of April 2018. During the event you will spend 1.5 day with similar minded graduates, working on a range of highly challenging exercises in a number of business-related scenarios. This is the final step in the traineeship selection process.
  • Your presence during the Selection Days and the final Business Challenge Event is required.

When you successfully complete the selection process, you are able to start between the 1st of May and 1st of September 2018 in your first assignment which is especially created for this program.
