Internship: Innovation Project Cost Estimations

Your challenge

Are you the enthusiastic, talented intern we’re looking for?

You take ownership of improving part of our project initiation phase by developing / further maturing our cost & timing estimation tool for Innovation projects.

Your responsibilities

  • Interviewing & analyzing historical database
  • Define key cost drivers within a project;
  • Developing mathematical model / cost estimation tool that can be used in the early phase of the project (see red box).

Key deliverables

  • Deliver a cost estimation tool that accurate [ Accuracy, R2]
  • Quality of One Pager (First Time Right One Pager)
  • Response time to Business (One Pager to Initial Response)
  • Maintenance / Update process (entry of new projects into the database)

Fine tuning of objectives is part of the assignment.

Your team

You will be working within the Project Management office of Shavers. From here you will be supported and guided in conducting your investigation.

You will be located at our manufacturing site in Drachten.

Philips Drachten is one of the biggest sites of Philips Healthtech. The Drachten site hosts several innovation departments for consumer products. Amongst them are our innovation departments for Personal Care. Shavers is part of this. The development of a new shavers happens in a cross-functional project approach

Our offer

We are looking for

To be successful in this internship we are looking for you:

  • Currently studying towards your University Bachelor of Science/Master of science WO (Bsc./Msc.) in:
  • Business Administration
  • (International) Business Management
  • Industrial Engineering
  • Mechanical Engineering with an affinity to business studies
  • Mathematics with a Business focus
  • Fluent in oral and written English
  • Knowledge: in mathematical modeling as this is a key part of the assignment.
  • Advanced knowledge in Excel and Statistics
