HHDx has developed the Minicare I20. This is a fully automated, point-of-care testing device. This test can be easily taken at the patient’s bedside during their initial cardiac assessment, delivering lab comparable results within minutes. The process development group is responsible for producing the Minicare I20 microfluidic cartridges in a robust and reproducible way.

The production processes used to produce a microfluidic cartridge include surface functionalization of the plastic cartridge. The goal of internship studies in the process development group will be focused around building knowledge to complete house of quality of the full microfluidic basepart and to find the important critical parameters for several processes and materials to ensure a robust product.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

HBO/ university student in Technology Engineering or related studies (preferably physics, chemistry or (bio)chemical processing).

Interests in physical chemistry/ material chemistry/ surface chemistry and interactions between (Bio)materials and surfaces.

Flexibility to take up challenges in different areas in a rapidly changing environment.

Hands-on approach and a high self-employed mentality, in combination with strong analytical skills and pragmatic

Student must have an interest to work in an In-Vitro Diagnostics / Medical Device industry.

Obtaining an VMT/ SMT (safety in microbiological technologies) certificate is preferred but not an obligation

Student must be able to work independently and be proactive

Language skills: English and Dutch (not mandatory)
