Influencing and improving future products by designing and engineering assembly processes

Your job as Printhead Process Developer

Within product development (R&D) we are working on the next generation print heads to enlarge the application range of our printing technology. In this role you are designing and engineering assembly processes for the manufacturing of drop forming units. Think of the application of adhesives, handling and micro-positioning of parts, curing of adhesives and contamination control.

You will be working in a multi-disciplinary team together with a team lead, other (material and process) developers and technicians. Together you are responsible for delivering successful designs and assembly processes and appropriate hand over to your colleagues of Manufacturing.

For print heads in development you design and implement new production processes and realize the equipment involved. This comprises developing a product vision, defining requirements for process equipment and measurement equipment and (project) plan.

Together with your colleagues of Manufacturing you take care of factors like productivity, yield, cost price and equipment reliability. You are strong in failure analyses and come up with smart solutions for improvement opportunities and issues. With your pragmatic mindset and strong interpersonal skills you ensure in time delivery of high quality designs and solutions of your team to the overall project. Moreover you test and proof the feasibility of processes in one of our pilot plants. When a process is ready for implementation you assign it to Manufacturing.

This position is based in Venlo, the Netherlands. You report to the Manager Consumables & Processes.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for a pragmatic and ‘hands on ‘engineer who wants to move on and is looking to expand skills and experience to a next level. To be successful you bring along strong analytical and engineering skills.

Furthermore you match the following criteria;

  • You have a Bachelor or Master degree in Physical Chemistry or Mechanical Engineering combined with affinity for Material Science
  • You have up to 5 years relevant work experience, proven affinity for engineering and designing prototypes and equipment.
  • In a multidisciplinary team you speak up by showing a lot of initiative and drive. Moreover you convey a vision and inspire, convince and motivate your team.
  • You are pragmatic, decisive and realization-oriented, strong prioritizing the quality of your work
  • Strong communication skills in English – verbal and written. Profound knowledge of Dutch is a plus
