BSc/MSc/ Chemistry: Ink development via smart design rules
Ultraviolet-curable (UV) inks are at the heart of many high quality and versatile printing applications. The properties of the ink directly influence the quality of the final print. In order to improve the design of Océ’s next UV ink, you are going to investigate how ink properties (both physical and chemical) can be tuned by tuning the composition. Your project plan will be guided by the most recent insights within Océ about the relations between ink composition and ink properties. Depending on your own interests, your main tasks may involve:
design and formulation of realistic models for UV inks;
characterization of relevant physical properties;
modeling of the effect of different components on the ink properties;
performing print tests to study the effect on print quality.
Who are we looking for?
You have a background in chemistry with an interest in the relations between molecular and material (macroscopic) properties. You are curious, work accurately and you are eager to contribute to the future of UV ink printing.
