NIBC Bank is looking for an intern for the Financial Markets Risk team focusing on the Stress Testing framework. This internship will focus on researching and improving the methodology used in the Stress Testing framework.

Financial Markets Risk is part of Risk Management and performs a broad range of activities. The team consists of four sub-teams responsible for modelling, monitoring and reporting financial risks. Within this diverse international team, you will have the opportunity to make an impact from day one. You will be exposed to many teams within the bank, quickly gaining an insight into the functioning of a bank while learning how commercial and risk activities complement each other.

What will you do?

This internship will focus on researching and improving the methodology used in the Stress Testing framework. The Stress Testing framework involves various modules that model the portfolios and the balance sheets development under several scenarios driven by macro-economic variables. The outcome of the framework is used both for internal reporting and external reporting to the Dutch central bank.

As an intern, your tasks will include:

  • Conduct research and test various assumptions used within the framework. This task involves performing various statistical analyses.
  • Improve the implementation of the tools and the documentation.

What will you need?

A successful candidate will have the following credentials:

  • A quantitative academic background with distinctive academic results.
  • Professional knowledge of Excel. A good knowledge of Matlab is considered an advantage.
  • Strong analytical and numerical skill.
  • Excellent (English) communication skills.
  • Flexible team player who is able to work independently.
