Intern Asset Management Services - NIBC Markets Amsterdam

Internship

Amsterdam, Netherlands

Negotiable

Summary:

NIBC Markets is looking for an intern in asset management services!

Job Description:

Why would you want to work for NIBC Markets?

Markets has recently been acquired by NIBC Bank N.V. for the synergies the acquisition can offer between the corporate banking (e.g. lending) activities of NIBC Bank and capital markets activities (such as IPOs) of NIBC Markets. This means that you will be working in a fresh and fast changing environment right in the heart of Amsterdam!

What will you do?

NIBC Markets offers asset management services for its clients. For the selection of investments, the asset manager uses a combination of expert judgement and a multi-factor model that takes into account several financial factors (e.g. Return On Capital Employed). The model has historically outperformed benchmarks (i.e. substantial Alpha) and the underlying portfolio of investments has limited additional volatility. The framework was last validated in 2014, testing amongst others the significance of the financial factors and back testing the models performance versus relevant benchmarks. NIBC Markets is looking for a candidate that can perform an up-to-date validation, taking into account two additional years of data and the addition of German investments to the portfolio.

What will you need?

A quantitative background. Preferably last year of bachelor or masters student in e.g. mathematics, econometrics or related field. You will also need strong communication skills and a strong personality; getting your (quantitative) point across in a trading environment can be a challenge!

What will you get?

This assignment will teach you the basics of investing in stocks and gives you a chance to experience a trading environment first hand, as well as the opportunity to showcase your quantitative skillset.
