About us

Over the last few years the NFU Mutual embarked on a programme of IT change which included a completely new infrastructure, improved processes and new standards. Our aim was, and is still, to put IT at the heart of the business with a real focus on our customers, our systems and our people. Our IT Professional Trainees play a key part in the future of NFU Mutual.

The Role

We’re looking for the next generation of technically minded graduates that can lead technology change to join our IT Technical Leadership Scheme. As well as learning about key technologies supporting the insurance industry, we will be skilling you up to understand Cloud, Secure Datacentres & many other integral new technologies. Alongside a good degree, you’ll need to have an enthusiastic, positive and proactive nature – that’s really important. You’re someone who’s keen to learn and get involved; someone who grabs hold of opportunities rather than waiting for them to come. You pair ambition and determination with excellent team working and people skills. And right now, you’ll be ready to thrive and make your mark on everything the scheme brings your way. You’ll effectively collaborate with colleagues and build strong professional relationships at every level throughout your journey here.

Job Specification

We’ve structured the three year scheme so that you rotate through a series of different placements to give you a broad understanding of different IT departments and how they work together. You can look forward to exciting work, hands-on exposure and the opportunity to gain valuable professional qualifications. It’s insightful, varied and dynamic. With a dedicated mentor and a great support network, you’ll have everything you need to develop a rewarding career.

Person Specification

We are looking for people who:

  • Possess good verbal and written communication skills
  • Are self-motivated and able to work within tight deadlines
  • Work effectively both in teams and in silo when needed
  • Are keen to develop, learn new skills and challenge themselves to be the best they can be
  • Have a positive attitude and plenty of ambition and drive to add value

Qualifications/Other

You will have obtained a 2:2 degree or above from an established academic institution
