Our exciting Apprenticeship is for people aged 16-24 years old and gives you the opportunity to start your career earlier than most.
An Apprenticeship is a genuine alternative to university, we offer full training while you work helping you to get ahead in a working environment.
In addition to receiving great experience and guidance from the start, you can also avoid expensive tuition fees and start earning and learning faster than traditional education. Just imagine what you could have achieved at Microsoft in the time it takes you to complete a university degree.
We don’t believe in the traditional notion of “work experience” either. At Microsoft you are given real responsibility from the outset, with an employment contract for the full duration of your Apprenticeship and funded training relevant to your role. When you complete your Apprenticeship, you’ll receive a nationally recognised apprenticeship qualification and support to help you continue your career at Microsoft.
Our Apprenticeship programme has been carefully created to form the bridge between academic and professional life. Join the Technical stream of our Apprenticeship programme and you will have an extensive range of responsibilities and key tasks to undertake. You will be working in an exciting, ever-changing and fast-paced environment as part of a team.
The Technical stream is ideally suited to someone with a strong interest in IT. You will have a natural flair for technology and the desire to understand more. So you must have a passion for technology (but not necessarily technical training or qualification), a curiosity to learn and excellent communication skills.
We are looking for enthusiastic and self-motivated people who want to develop the skills and knowledge to be, communicate easily, solve problems, strive for success and contribute towards the overall success of the business area and team you work within.
For more insight into the culture and community at Microsoft, as well as practical advice on the application process from all our Early in careers employees, read more on our blog www.beyourfuture.net
To join as an Apprentice, you will need to have obtained a minimum or be predicated to achieve a minimum of 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) grade A to C, including Maths, English, Science and preferably ICT.
For our 2017 intake you must be able to start your Apprenticeship in September 2017
Please note that the Apprenticeship is for school leavers only and those who are due to graduate this academic year or who have finished university are not eligible.
The closing date for Apprentice applications is 23rd April 2017
