Inspection or Maintenance:

You will be involved in decision-making from the start, with an opportunity to join the Inspection or Maintenance group that manages the integrity of all the fixed equipment on the refinery. You will be a core member of a team in delivering equipment integrity from inspection of existing equipment, strategy development & analysis, day to day trouble shooting and project implementation. This will be a varied role exposing the engineer to all different types of refining equipment and the types of corrosion and degradation issues we experience.

Chemicals:

You could find yourself working on a major capital project to increase capacity or reliability or be responsible for implementing new initiatives to improve site safety. Alternatively, you could be providing daily technical support as part of a team on a unit ensuring on-grade production that meets market demand. Other opportunities exist to gain an array of experiences in your first few years with the company, from project development and commissioning, plant troubleshooting and optimization, to operations planning or advanced control.

You will be in constant contact with a large variety of people, plant operators on the units or technology specialists. A job at Fawley places you at the hub of operations and offers the unique opportunity to combine commercial and technical operational activities from the start of your career.

EMEEL/Projects:

As a new engineer you might start in the Project Development, Project Management or Process Technology groups where you will either work on $Multimillion capital projects or support Technology Leadership programs across our 9 European & Middle East manufacturing sites.

Our Engineering Office staff work together in teams in close conjunction with European affiliate refinery staff, and staff in the ExxonMobil Research & Engineering Head Office in Fairfax, USA to deliver high value engineering services that yield a strong business return to our operations.

International travel within Europe and to a lesser extent the Middle East is a frequent element of our work.
