bloomon is turning the flower industry on its head. How? By disrupting the traditional supply chain – where 99% of players operate offline – and delivering field-fresh flowers straight from growers to our customers. High-tech versus highly creative, our data-driven e-commerce company launched in Amsterdam in 2014 – and went from start-up to scale-up at hypersonic speed. We now deliver bouquets weekly, biweekly or monthly to your front door in five countries: the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, UK and Denmark. Our ambition? To conquer Europe. Then the world. Our quest? To be the first global flower brand in the lifestyle segment. And fill hearts and homes with happiness. One bouquet at a time.

Product @bloomon

We get out of bed in the morning to create happiness in five different countries. And to ensure that every single customer gets the perfect bouquet. How? By working closing with CRM to understand the root of customer delight. It’s easy when we love flowers and are inherently quality-focused. Immersed in the heart of the company, our style team designs bloomon’s beautiful bouquets and our buyers hand-pick the highest quality flowers at the right price. We do this by building strong partnerships with the best growers in the field. And as we continue to flip the flower industry on its head, we help the growers grasp our modus operandi and meet our expectations: a new standard in flowers and blooms that last for 10 days. When operations are over, we collect data so we can learn from what we do and reinvent ourselves. Why? So we’re ready for what the next day brings.

What will you do?

As our Product Improvement intern you are responsible for setting up and executing your own projects, working together with different cross-functional teams. Whether it's expanding the product portfolio, reducing costs or optimizing processes: you're doing it all. A unique opportunity to get acquainted with the different facets involved in setting up and growing a business: sales, operations (production, buying and logistics), online marketing, business analytics, etc.

You will be responsible for:

  • Working on projects and doing analyses for quality & process improvements and growth opportunities (e.g., identifying how to get quality control to the next level while sourcing more flowers every week, doing analyses on best performing growers, etc.);
  • Identifying issues to improve and find ways to improve these issues (e.g., reducing waste of flowers after a production day, implementing solutions to reduce manual operations of buyers, etc.);
  • Leading and implementing projects across all departments;
  • Being a key player for the Product team, on the one hand co-responsible for the day-to-day operations and on the other hand important driver to get the product team to the next level.

During this internship you will be based in Amsterdam and work closely together with and receive good guidance from our product improvement leads. An internship at bloomon is characterized by a unique combination of hands-on projects and in-depth analyses: identifying the opportunity, developing the approach and actually implementing the improvement.We offer a unique opportunity to truly develop your entrepreneurial skills and learn how to further scale a successful startup.

What do we expect from you?

  • Excellent organizer with strong analytical skills;
  • University student (recent graduate or ending phase);
  • Pro-active, energetic and definite ‘can do’ attitude;
  • Tech savvy and passion for e-commerce and m-commerce (Excel knowledge is a must and SQL / Javascript is a pre);
