Every system has a lifespan. And just like us, over that lifespan it can develop aches and pains that can stop things working as they should. So Systems Engineers are focused on making sure that systems remain reliable, work well when their partner systems change, and don’t switch from being a solution to being a problem. Over the course of two to four years, you’ll learn all about how we do just that.

WHERE YOU CAN JOIN US

See the list below to find out more about the areas of our business that are offering places on our Systems Engineering programme for autumn 2017. But no matter which team you join, you could be based anywhere in the UK. That’s why we ask all our graduates to be flexible and willing to move during their programme.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

When you’re trying to anticipate what might happen as a system develops, you need to look at the big picture and zoom in on the tiny details. And when you’re dealing with systems as complex as submarines or whole communications networks, that’s a very, very big picture and a lot of small details. So, over the course of two to four years, you’ll spend time in our offices and at customer sites learning all about the different roles we play.

WHAT YOU’LL GET OUT OF IT

The range of work you’ll cover will help you figure out what you excel at. And once you know that, we’ll help you go as far as you can. We’ll support you as you work to become an Incorporated or Chartered Engineer and give you a competitive starting salary of £27,000 - £30,000.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

You’ll need a 2:1 BEng (Hons) degree. And because the programme is accredited by the IMechE and IET, your degree will need to be accredited by one of those too. You’ll also need to satisfy the MOD’s security requirements (and may need to complete a medical assessment).

Applications for this programme are currently open. To avoid disappointment we recommend that you apply sooner rather than later as we work on a rolling basis and where we experience large volumes of applications, we will close the role early.
