When tackling epic projects that make a big difference to day-to-day life, we often have to get right down to microscopic detail and then work our way up. That’s what process engineers do. They figure out the implications of handling, producing and treating a wide range of process fluids for a wider range of applications. And in the process, they use their expertise to develop safe, innovative and robust solutions on an industrial scale. Over the course of two to four years, you’ll help things work better, by being a part of huge projects of all kinds.

WHERE YOU CAN JOIN US

You can find out more about the areas of our business offering places on the Process Engineering programme for autumn 2017 on our website. But no matter which team you join, you could be based anywhere in the UK. That’s why we ask all our graduates to be flexible and willing to move during their programme.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

You’ll be up to your elbows in cutting-edge technology on this programme. You might be looking at long-term submarine projects or fast-paced projects working on commercial marine vessels. Or you might get involved in our civil nuclear work from solving complex decommissioning challenges to supporting next generation construction. The range is vast. And after you’ve got a taste of what we do, you’ll develop a specialism in a technical discipline.

WHAT YOU’LL GET OUT OF IT

You’ll get our full support on your road to becoming an Incorporated or Chartered Engineer – and a competitive starting salary of £27,000 - £30,000. That professional status will line you up nicely for a variety of positions with us after the programme. And while you’re working towards it, you can help us get school kids excited about becoming engineers too through our work with local schools.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

You’ll need a 2:2 MEng degree in Chemical Engineering (or similar). And because the programme is accredited by the IChemE, IMechE, IET and RINA, your degree should be accredited by one of them too. You’ll also need to satisfy the MOD’s security requirements (and may need to complete a medical assessment).

Applications for this programme are currently open. To avoid disappointment we recommend that you apply sooner rather than later as we work on a rolling basis and where we experience large volumes of applications, we will close the role early.
