Graduate welcome event
Graduates at Arup attend a five day residential welcome event each September, enabling you to learn more about the firm, meet your peers and undergo skills training to develop specialist knowledge for your role.

Experts and skills networks
Within Arup we seek to deliver the best of the firm's expertise by networking our knowledge globally.
Arup has a wealth of experience and experts in a huge range of fields. As a graduate, you become a member of one of the brightest network around – Arup people. This enables you to plug into anyone of our global team with specialist knowledge.

Training and e-learning
We offer accredited training schemes linked to professional bodies, to support your continuous professional development. And there are hundreds of internal training courses, from personal development courses like presenting skills through to technical courses. Plus a number of courses to help you better understand how we operate.

Secondments
As part of your development you may be given the opportunity to have a secondment in the form of visits to manufacturers, contractors, specialist suppliers or other relevant academic or industrial institutions. Secondments can be arranged throughout the UK, or sometimes overseas.

International placements
Arup gives you an opportunity to network globally. You can apply to work overseas with colleagues and clients from different cultural backgrounds and gain an understanding of the values of the firm. International placements can last anything from a month to a few years in duration, although we would expect you to gain UK experience first.

Professional chartership
Depending on the group you join, your professional training could be towards becoming a chartered engineer, completing corporate finance qualifications or other professional accreditation.

Arup University
You will have the opportunity to register for professional training modules and masters-level modular studies designed to develop you as an individual, and to meet the firm’s strategic business needs.
