Starts:         June/July 2017

Salary:         £15,000 per annum

Location:    Slough, Berkshire, Stowmarket, Suffolk or Ashington, Northumberland

Available Opportunities

We have 2 summer internship opportunities available within our Decorative Paints business which brings colour to people’s lives through established brands like Dulux, Armstead and Cuprinol.

The roles are available across the Decorative Paints Manufacturing sites in the UK which are located in Stowmarket, Ipswich; Ashington, Northumberland and Slough, Berkshire.

Examples of the work to be undertaken include projects focussed on lowering our carbon footprint, reducing the range of raw materials we use or identifying opportunities to leverage economies of scale. Whatever projects you are involved in you will be mentored by experienced Supply Chain professionals who will encourage you to put academic theory in practice.

You must have strong interpersonal skills to work with colleagues across functions, cultures and at different levels within the business. You will need to be the type of person who can inspire change and innovate as well as simplify how we work and bring a pioneering approach to ensure we continually improve. Comfortable working in a team, you will need strong project management and analytical skills and be comfortable working on multiple projects with new groups that could be based in different locations. A second European language would be desirable but not essential.

To be considered for this summer internship, you must be able to demonstrate an enthusiasm for the Supply Chain functions and be attaining a minimum 2.1 degree level or equivalent in your studies   in either Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Manufacturing Engineering or Process & Electrical) or Science (Chemist, Biological or Physics).

You must also have achieved a minimum of 300 UCAS points or equivalent and speak fluent English.

So if you think you’ve got what it takes and want to develop your talents, we can’t wait to see you here at AkzoNobel.

The first stage of the process is a telephone interview, followed by an assessment centre which is being held on Tuesday 30th May in Slough.
