WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?

We are seeking a new colleague to join the Heat Transfer and Fluid Dynamics expertise group within Technical Sciences, as a technical expert for our experimental expertise. Together with a team of TNO experts, you will work on projects in the field of innovative heat pumps and heat recovery units for the built environment and the field of mechanical integrity i.e. field measurements of process installations in the energy domain. You will have close contact with clients and your work will strongly link to the ambition of TNO to contribute to the energy transition.

TNO has developed expertise in heat transfer and fluid flow in buildings and processing plants. We specialise in gas and fluid flow in pipelines and process equipment, the energy management of buildings and optimisation of HVAC systems. Our experts use physical and mathematical models to minimise mechanical loads on HVAC and process systems and maximise efficiency, resulting in reliable and efficient production processes and buildings. In addition to modelling, we benefit from extensive laboratory test facilities and environmental chambers to analyse and evaluate the heat transfer and fluid flow performance of new concepts and validate the accuracy of models. Our understanding of measuring heat and fluid dynamics, noise and vibrations is further employed to analyse the performance of buildings and processing systems in practice, including offshore installations.

Background:

• Fluid dynamics & mechanics, thermodynamics
• Experimental experience during your study is a strong advantage
• Basic electronics and data analysis experience is an advantage
• In possession of driving license B

APPLICATION PROCESS

You can apply till the 5th of December. The process comprises at least three (selection) rounds. First two interview rounds and then an assessment. After a positive selection, we will finish off the process by discussing terms and conditions of employment. We try to complete the interviews and assessment within 4 weeks.
